i bought that?
I've been on the hunt for a cool-girl panama hat that doesn't look like a flying saucer on my head for a few months now. So when I saw this hat sitting in a stack on a shelf above ten dollar bikinis in H&M I just about started clapping. Shorter brim (no UFO head-effect), black on black, not an ounce of flop and comes in a size that fits perfectly (xs/s). I had found the hat! The shopping gods were on my side...AND only 18 dollars?! Definitely my new favorite and may have become a daily staple...maybe not Levi's jacket status but still. Don't say I didn't warn you when it starts making an appearance in every post. Hats off to you H&M, you give good hat.
Monday I paired my new hat with an awesome 100% organic cotton tank top
by Groceries from Planet Blue and of course Rag & Bone denim cutoffs.

Do you have a favorite hat?? Do you even wear hats?
"Rich Italian velvet, lipstick red Marrakesh leather lining and memory foam cushion insoles for added comfort." Yeah. I'm totally ok with what Modern Vice is workin with. Clearly I need both pairs. I don't even care if they're irrelevant in six months, by then they'll have holes in them anyway.

Happy birthday to me.

So I have a cat obsession...who doesn't? I swear I'm an adult but I just can't help myself when it comes to Hello Kitty. Is it weird that everything pictured was in my purse at the same time? #whatismylife

The goods. Links included
Hello Kitty lip balm, rhinestone cat ear headband from Urban Outfitters, box of Hello Kitty Band-Aids, Hanae Mori "butterfly" roller ball perfume (the ONLY female perfume I touch), Batiste dry shampoo in "cherry", NYX cream blush in "orchid", cat-shaped ring (which was the feature of my second post ever!) and a Hello Kitty devil tin from Dylan's Candy Bar that was originally filled with cinnamon hots but now houses bobby pins.

I like to keep it simple. My closet is full of basics in neutral colors with dashes of leather and denim. Lately I've had quite the obsession with stripes. The perfect new staple in my closet? This American Apparel Striped Racerback Tank, is basically the best basic ever. The poly-blend is super comfy but more structured than the brand's "tri-blend" which makes it perfect for my fellow bra-less embracers. The stripes add a dash of Parisian cool and look great worn with some light wash vintage mom jeans and a pair of heeled ballet flats. At 32 bucks you might as well buy it in every stripe color combo. Basically, you're welcome.

What's your go-to basic?

A recent trip to La Brea included a stop into GLCO (Garrett Leight California Optical), because how could I walk by the cool sunnie shop and not go in to play eye-dress up?! Scanning the shelves lined with unique vintage-inspired shades I found a stand out. "No. I don't need them." (my conscious' attempt at discouraging the purchase.) I set down the perfectly thick, glossy, over sized, dark tortoise, slight cat-eye shaped sunglasses and headed across the street to American Rag but even trying on a slew of printed denim couldn't get my mind off of those damn sunnies! Running back to GL I realized I had found the ultimate, Olsen twin-worthy, hater-blockers. Designed by French visionary Thierry Lasry and handcrafted in France using the highest quality Italian acetate these sunglasses are a masterpiece. They're the perfect sturdy, ever day sunnie and work some serious magic whether shielding your peepers or double-timing as a head band. Yeah, they ain't cheap but they are worth every Benjamin.

A cold rainy night of internet trolling for comfy sweaters led me to my new favorite purchase. I might already have a stack of assorted Wildfox Couture sweaters, so what?!? When you find something you love...buy it in every color, duh. This awesome skool sucks hoodie sweater arrived at my doorstep Monday night and I literally haven't taken it off since. For the love of cute, ironic graphic prints and all other things that are holy; Wildfox you take the pink-frosted cake. I'm already a huge fan of the brand but this sweater might have just taken my obsession to an entirely different level. It's slouchy with a loose fit and is perfect for rainy "I'm just a potato" kind of Sundays. Throw it over undies with some cashmere thigh-highs and you're ready for an 80's movie marathon and multiple mugs of hot cocoa with whipped cream.
Oh and in case you were wondering, yes I sleep in it too.

Easy and affordable mall finds perfect for the fast approaching holiday season.

Zara
I usually always find great stuff whether it's a simple top or a cool skirt with intricate detail. If you're in a bind for a cute holiday/house warming/whatever party this should be your first stop. Here's the standouts....

Zipper and gold accents lend this basic wool coat a luxe "I got this at Barney's" look. Great cold weather jacket and comfy for holiday traveling.
Pretty sheer button up blouse with gorgeous crystal collar detailing. Holiday essential. Naughty with a black lace bra underneath or nice over a cream camisole.

Cute silky basic blouse with pretty dainty gold buttons. Comes in six different colors. Great versatile wardrobe staple that's party-ready with a leather skirt and heels or airport-bound with jeans and boots.
Adorable and affordable (best of both worlds!) leather skirt with edgy gold chain detailing. At only 90 dollars and 100% lambskin this piece may be my favorite find.

Anthropologie
Yeah, yeah I know...Anthro has a slight "granny" vibe but hear me out. They actually have some great stuff in stores right now. Their clutch game is on point and worth checking out.

Super unique and pretty detailed clutch. It's handmade in India and the perfect addition to a dark winter wardrobe. Looks like you spent triple the 118 dollar price tag. Anthro has a HUGE selection of gorgeous clutches on the website that are simply amazing for the holiday's.

Urban Outfitters
I love Urban and always find great stuff so I had to narrow down my top picks to these awesome tights and the perfect (super cheap!) heels.

Because what could possibly make you feel more festive than a pair of pretty sparkly tights (besides a peppermint martini)? Not a whole lot. Super cute and semi-sheer (which looks much prettier than opaque), wear em under a basic dress for an instant holiday feel. Also perfect for a chilly New Year's Eve.

The only party heel you'll need. Super cute and currently on sale for only 39 dollars. Grab it in glittery gold or red for parties and black for year round usage.

Sephora
No mall trip is complete without a stop at makeup heaven and they've got all KINDS of great stuff to get make anyone look a little more festive.

Semi matte lipstick in the perfect vampy dark red. Naughtier than a classic red but still just as festive. Couple swipes and you're set for an evening of chatting, sipping and munching on treats (didn't you know holiday calories don't count, duh).

****gift spoiler alert****
I love philosophy brand because they have the yummiest scents hands down, but OMG this is on a whole different level. Smells like Christmas, fireplaces, holiday cooking and love drenched in a rich sweet butter. I'm completely hooked and best thing? The set is only twenty dollars.

A prime example of just why I love Kitson. No matter how kitschy and overly hyped the store is, I always find random things I want need. Latest wardrobe addition is this over sized graphic tee. It reads "No 9. Cool Cats Club. Nine Lives", I died and went to cat-lady heaven. The brand's name couldn't get any better...wait for it..."cool cats club." It's a "one size fits all cats" cotton tee shirt that also features cute claw mark graphics on the back shoulder. It's not available on the website yet so you'll have to physically go get it (hard life, I know.) It's my new favorite graphic tee and looks great thrown over leggings with riding boots, vintage sunnies, a leather jacket and (as you can see) Starbucks venti iced coffee in hand.

Go get it and join the club. Meeeow.

During an impromptu (okay, confession: bi-weekly) browsing trip to Kitson I found something.
While a typical Kitson stop includes a five second walk through the women's clothing with all focus on the Wildfox Couture table followed by thirty minutes reading completely frivolous books and playing with the weird, kitschy knick knacks. This time I found something good. Amongst the glitzy, border-line questionable jewelry(?) was a bowl of laser cut plastic rings. I had unleashed my inner five year old while digging around in the dish. Behold. The best ring ever. Plastic, glitter and cat-shaped, oh gawd!

Although it only fits comfortably on my pinky I was not about to ask the sales guy if it was intended for children. I mean hell, I am a child, I just happen to have abnormally large knuckles okay?!
It's scary to think of the absurd amount of money I would have been willing to pay for this piece of cute plastic, so for a measly $8.95 how could I say no?

Isn't she, errr it, fabulous?! Meoooow
