Oh hiiiii more of my ongoing collaboration with American Eagle is now up on the AE blog + sent out out as an email blast. I was asked to style and play around in new "soft dressing" pieces. Every single piece is super comfy, almost like pj material, but look casual-cool and still appropriate for leaving the house. A killer floral jumpsuit, slouchy pants, a cutout bralette and the most adorable baby doll dress are some of my favorite American Eagle picks for Spring. Check out the full post on the AE blog here along with a little blurb on my career aspirations!

By now you've noticed that ripped knee skinnies have been getting major love in my ootd's. Perfect black skinnies have always been a closet staple but throw in some fading and distressing and BAM. Basic black denim that's fresh, a little edgy and perfect with everything. This pair by All Saints have been my go-to and are a definite closet must for spring. I've also been weirdly into blouses over the past few months and feel super *gasp* adult due the fact that my eye has been gravitating towards working girl wardrobe pieces like crisp, neutral button ups. I may or my not have a small hoard of silky blouses hanging in my closet now...shhhh. Although I don't foresee pencil skirts, stilettos and crimson lips in my near (or distant) future; dressing down a classic button up with ripped skinnies, strappy sandals and a thick belt gives off sophisticated cool girl vibes. This easy outfit combo has been my daily uniform for the past month, perfect for mixing cool with class. Because what's sexier than a cool chick who knows how to pull it together? A classy cool chick with kick ass confidence.

"MO&Co. heads for a spring awakening with it’s newest collection, showcasing warm weather versions of wardrobe staples on the back of fashion’s queen of cool, Freja Beha. The latest campaign is all about a borrowed from the boys sensibility with logo t-shirts, leather jackets and combat boots mixed with lace and floral patterns for a touch of femininity. Karim Sadli shoots the black and white images which captures the campaign’s message perfectly." (models.com) Could not have said it better myself. I could seriously have this video projected onto my bedroom wall playing continuously for the next three months, and the pictures?! Might already be hanging above my desk. Let's just say I'll be pulling major inspo from this campaign for the next, oh I don't know, ten years or so.
I've been obsessed with embellished heeled sandals since Isabel Marant SS 13. Yes, I know every blogger in the universe owns those same damn sandals and they were new, like, four seasons ago; I still love the way strappy sandals work with both skinnies and bare legs. Although these are not the real deal "carol sandal," as seen on blogger instagrams worldwide, they are a great match for achieving the same look at a quarter of the cost. I'm not always a Jeffrey Campbell fan but when they have these options, I can't avoid the JC groupie club.

Looking at my closet the other day I realized I have tons of stuff hanging that I just don't really wear, including this choies clothing denim shirtdress. It's great quality denim but just too stiff and oversized to be worn as originally intended. So instead of giving it away, I decided to chop it into a shirt I would actually wear. I know, I know...how pinterest of me. I put on the dress and marked the sides at hip length with a sharpie and again at the front button that hit just below my zipper. I then laid the dress flat on the floor and cut off the bottom into a slight V shape, with the sides slightly higher than the front/back. I also cut off the wrist cuffs and then threw the new and improved shirt into the wash with a splash of bleach to break down the denim. Viola! Out came a new denim shirt that I'll actually wear. I do still plan on taking in the back with a few contrasting stitches to make it a little more fitted. For someone who generally avoids DIY-s, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Happy Friday! Now go make something this weekend

The absolute best package came in the mail yesterday from Lovers + Friends, including this perfectly cut black tank. It features a high racerback neckline with a cool braided back strap that showcases both my fresh sunburn and new Triangl Underwear bralette. I'll call my look "summer goth" since all black errythang doesn't exactly scream bikinis and sunshine but the cut out tank, exposed bralette and strappy sandals do. Sorry, not sorry that this outfit will be on rotation for the next six months.

Say hello to this perfect pair of strappy heeled goodness compliments of Dolce Vita's collab with Vanessa Mooney. *triple swoon* I need these in my life. Now now now. I can already see it...a summer full of Salton Sea princess adventures. Just as cool with cutoffs and a sweater for Eastside brunching as an alternative to my usual ankle bootie Midtown dinner situation. Ugh. Obsessed. Order them here right meow. Trust.
