Wow guys, my apologizes for being a total slacker on new outfit posts. The holidays were a nice little break but now...it's ON. Fresh gym membership, more outfit posts, more travel and more fun. Saying goodbye to 2014 with a fun little tee dress and boot combo. Back on black, shocker. Let's do it.
With Christmas right around the corner and quite a bit of shopping left to do, my go-to ootd has become as simple and streamlined as possible. Surprise, surprise because that sounds soooooo weird. Kidding. Well I teamed up with online boutique Seldom Seen to create an easy holiday look. I decided to pair this little Wood Wood sweater dress with the Loeffler Randall "work tote." This bah just happens to be the perfect everyday tote to haul all my usual sh*t, (camera, wallet, sunnies, makeup & other miscellaneous etc etc.) Kept it comfy in the shoe department with my current favorite suede ankle booties. Follow the rest of the SS style series with Alyssa!
Oh, hey guys. It's been a minute. Been super busy the past few weeks and haven't had time to shoot any posts. Here's a quick, simple one from my coffee date with Valentina a few days ago. A little white wall throwback action. Rain brought sweater weather (again) here in LA and I'm taking full advantage and rocking turtlenecks all day everyday. But being that it is southern California...I'll probably be back in a tank top and cutoffs by New Years.
WTF, LA? This weather is all over the place. I tried to commit to sweaters and leather but I'm sick of ending up a sweaty mess by noon. The solution? A little lacey tank under leather. You still look put together if you take off the jacket and bonus points for zero sweat-stained pits. Score. Wear with slim fitting bf jeans and menswear inspired lace ups for cool girl vibes that will literally keep you cool.
This rainy, overcast weather is making me lazy and unmotivated to dress myself in anything but massive sweaters, running tights and wool socks. Forced myself to throw a little somethin somethin together, while still maintaining most of the comfort level. This pullover sweatshirt looks less home-y and more private school kid, when layered over a little collared shirt. I love these ripped knee skinnies and think they're the perfect contrast to the preppy top action. That, and I also just really really love these jeans. #realtalk
What's your favorite way to wear a pullover, without looking like a bum?
Wow. An all black look? How weird! Kidding. Not weird at all. I'm fully embracing my inner goth chick with the beautiful overcast weather this week. This weekend I paired my new Black Orchid Denim destroyed skinnies with a comfy wool knit and sneakers. Added my new Larsson & Jennings watch for a pop of gold blaaaang. Comfy but chic. Now excuse me while I try to undo the past four days with a Pressed Juicery cleanse. #FUN
Nbd just 80 degrees yesterday. I know, I know. I shouldn't be complaining while the rest of the country freezes but seriously? 80 at the end of November??! Only in LA. Got a new little swing dress from Reformation appropriate for this heat. Super comfy and it'll (hopefully) be the perfect layer over sheer black tights if it ever cools down. Obvi added my favorite leather jacket for evening breezes. Will probably wear this dress tomorrow for Thanksgiving bc it's the ultimate food baby concealer. #realtalk
Oh hello random summer weather the other day, glad you left as fast as you came. Took advantage and wore my favorite sheer, layering piece by Ann & Albert. This tank is limited edition and just about perfect. Great for a hint of scandal with a lacey black bra underneath. Also looks super chic tucked into high waisted skinnies/skirt/anything for a night out. And that open back detail?? Yaaaaas. I'm all about it.
And by "finally," I mean jacket weather. Hallelujah. This new denim & shearing jacket, compliments of the babes at Paige Denim, is kind of a game changer. I mean....black waxed denim, moto zippers AND shearling?? So much yes. Will definitely be rocking this daily for the next few months.
I got to spend the better part of last week playing in Montreal with the Shelly's London team for their SS2015 campaign. Stayed at the Hotel Gault, an amazing boutique hotel in Old Montreal. Comfiest. Bed. Ever. Got to tour the Shelly's HQ on Thursday and had dinner with the team at this super sexy chic resto, Le Serpent. Friday I explored Old Montreal. Grabbed an amazing soy latte and almond croissant at Olive et Gourmando before heading to Mile End. Popped into Café Myriad and wandered around the shops on Saint Laurent before heading back to the hotel since I was freezing. Linked up with everyone else for dinner at Bevo later that evening. The streets looked like every "night-in-Europe" movie scene ever. Saturday was shoot day in the studio. Had an amazing time, the entire team was bomb dot com and super fun to work with. Travis Scott on repeat all day #teamratch. Wrap party at Voro in Mile End for the perfect end to a great week. Super excited to share all of the campaign content late February!! Stay tuned.
Being as I'm currently freezing my a** off in Montreal, here's a winter-appropriate outfit. And before you say anything, yes, I have been wearing this sweater everyday as promised. Here I paired my oversized turtleneck with leather leggings and black leather converse. I know, I know. So. Much. Black. Whatevs, #goth4everrrrrrr
I think I've found the one, guys. And by "the one" I mean jeans. The PERFECT jeans. What? Yup. This is kind of a big deal. Yeah so maybe buying a few pairs could also buy you a celine bag...but these crop skinnies by R13 are def worth their weight in gold. Trust me. I'll probably be wearing them for the next, oh I don't know, 4 years.
So I'm kind of really excited that last nights rain brought fall weather. Hell. Yes. Minorly obsessed with this amazing oversized turtleneck. Paired it over a little skirt and pretended I was girly. Weirdly enough, I liked it. Heeled boots with ruffle socks too?? Full on girly vibes. What can I say, give me enough pumpkin spice lattes and this shit happens.
Sometimes a last minute photo road trip to Joshua Tree is necessary. A few weeks ago Adria and I headed out to the desert with LA photographer Daria Ritch. I styled with some of my favorites pieces of the moment. Mixed some color into my usual dark color palette, CRAZY. Love how this set turned out.
Perks & Mini Bomber, Le Specs Sunglasses, TBA Boots
I look at my leather jackets and wool coats hanging everyday and sigh. Ugh. I'm so beyond over this forever-summer weather. Denim shorts in late October? Unfortunately, it's happening and although I'm not happy about it, I'm making it work. Paired this new super soft, striped tee by Mint under an equally comfy, army-esque shirt for pumpkin patch explorin' vibes. Kinda sorta maybe fall attire? Getting desperado for leather jacket weather over here..........
Here's a little darker, winter-vibed editorial I styled of my lil babe Adria, photographed by Nicholas Maggio. Although I may be a little biased based on the team, I'm super happy with how this set turned out. Definitely wish I was heading to NYC this winter to rock these looks out and about.
I feel this look is very appropriate as I'm in San Francisco for the next few days. I love the combo of black & blue with my new favorite pattern, plaid. I paired this oversized turtleneck sweater with leather looking denim and this bomb dot com new coat. Excuse me while I wear variations of this outfit for the next two months.
So I might have worn this sweater everyday this past week. I mean... the weather is finally appropriate. Usually been pairing my sweaters with skinnies but this striped tank dress just became my new favorite base layer. Stripes & knits? Could wear this sh*t every damn day. Made sure to slip on my bad b*tch boots (lol bc it takes me 10 minutes to strap these suckers) to tone down the j crew vibes. Oh, and don't judge my lazy, dirty-girl hair. It's the weekend, ok?!?!
Oh hello, it's been a minute. Finally had a chance to go through and edit pics from last week and...SURPRISE. Pink. What??! Usually I'll hold my fingers in the sign of a cross and gag at this hue, but when it's in the form of an oversized mens bomber, how could I resist? I threw it over last weeks uniform for a test run. New silky cami? Check. Vintage levis and black ankle boots? Check and check. Rima Rama in pink? Not saying it will happen again soon, but I definitely don't hate it. Check.
Yes. I've committed to dressing like it's sweater weather, even though it still feels like summer. People give me weird looks but it's cool because this super rad knit dress by Somedays Lovin's is the key. A turtleneck sweater dress with a breezy neck cutout so I don't sweat your makeup off while being a stubborn blogger? Genius. Oh and hey! It also works perfect for actual winter weather (brrr 50 degrees in LA lol) with a big infinity scarf layered on top & sheer tights. Seriously California, it's October. Get your weather act together already. Please?
It's honestly like I enjoy torturing myself. Juuuuust got home from a quick little Joshua Tree photo-rendezvous this evening. "Hot as h-e-double hockey sticks" doesn't even come close to describing today. AND I thought it was an amaze balls idea to shoot turtleneck sweaters and my other fall-weathered ideas fantasies. Which I'm v excited to share...but in the mean time, here's yet ANOTHER summer dressing post since it seems like this season is never ending. *tries to cry but no tears come bc too hot*
Woah, it's hot as f*ck again. Actual tears. Ugh. Well...at least these amazing pair of re-worked vintage levis arrived at my door yesterday, care of Re/Dun. Vintage Levis that actually FIT? So much yes. Super comfy and actually bearable even in the heat. Sorry skinnies but you might be out for a minute.
Oh hello, fall. Start off the new season right with 100 bucks to blow spend on pretty rings n thangs at Lumo Jewelry. The requirements? Post this photo on instagram with the hashtag #pickmerama, AND tag/follow @rima_rama & @lumojewelry. Oh and tag two friends on my original instagram post of this. Winner chosen at midnight Oct 15th, 2014!
THIS WEATHER THOUGH. JUST YAAAAS. Ok, I'll stop yelling now. The fact that it actually feels like fall has got me v excited. It means I can wear a sweatshirt around my waist and then actually use it. Besides the weather, I've been super into these adidas sneakers I picked up. They're the perfect alternative to my never ending ankle boot rotation. Here I paired this pretty lacey top with rolled up grey skinnies and sneakers to de-girlie-afy it. Did it work?? Did I make a little lace top look tomboy cool?
Current daily essentials? All black errythang & my new drink of choice, Bliss by Neuro. Not really one for color (in anything) but this drink has me feelin some type of way. Seriously. It's yummy AND is formulated to help you relax. So basically the perfect weekday AM, email-crunching drink. Buy a case cuz they're bomb and thank me later.
Does this sweater make me look like a muppet? Probably. Soups into it though. It's like you're literally wearing a cuddle. Paired with a cool pair of croc brogues and played in the street. Lots of goofy faces in this post. Hard to be serious when wearing such a fun sweater err dress(?!) Let the #nopantsparty continue.
Ugh. What is this heat again? Not ok. Guess I just have to pretend it's sweater weather while I wish for fall to come around. Kept it simple and paired this super soft long-sleeved tee with equally comfy skinnies and my bad b*tch boots. Nothing like great, not so basic-basics.
Sup fall!!!! Nice to see you again. Although it's not 100 degrees anymore (hallelujah,) sweater/leather weather is still a little far off. In the mean time, sweaters paired with bare legs have become my go-to. Although I'm not big on prints, how could I resist this cool, faded leaf-print sweater?? Although it's not quite long enough to pass as a dress, it satisfies the no-pants party theme I've had going for the past month. Boy clothes for life.
If you follow me on instagram, (ummm helloooo,) you know that I spent the past few days flexin in the desert with cool peeps. Not even gonna lie, it was really f-ing hot. Stayed at the Ace hotel and ventured out to Joshua Tree to try and catch some pretty sunset light yesterday. It totally rained on us, but obviously not enough to deter our five-look plan. Here are some quick inbetween shots in one of my favorite looks of the day. Can't wait to share the official sets with Jared & Ben! Now excuse me while I drown my cracked lips in vaseline.
This past weekend I took full advantage of the cooler Santa Monica breezes and was able to run around in this super comfy sweater, sans-pants obvi. Unfortunately, I may have jumped the "sweater weather" gun looking at this coming weekend's weather report (90's?? Seriously?!??!!?) I feel like a mean elementary school kid but honestly...can you just go away now summer? No one likes you anymore.
Sooo since it doesn't look like this insanely gross heat is letting up any time soon, I've been rocking this little palm print tank dress daily. Its a little girly for me, but the shift-cut keeps it hella cool. Paired it with my favorite bad b*tch boots and a denim shirt layer for late afternoon breezes. Super into this look because I could literally wear it all day and still fit right in at night.
Alley, denim, boots and leather. Shocker. Maybe if I dress like it's Fall weather it'll cool down faster. For now I guess I'll just use the jacket as a prop for now. I've been super into these rad, waxed skinnies by Paige Denim. They look like perfectly worn leather and are comfy as F. Been wearing them with basic tees, tanks and oversized crew neck sweatshirts at night. Here I paired them with my favorite Finders Keepers tank, boots and a varsity jacket for some casual-cool vibes. Heres to hoping it cools down fast so I can start actually rockin my favorite outwear pieces.
Minor witchy vibes from this past holiday weekend. I paired a cool, oversized tunic with super cute little chambray, pull on shorts. I've also been super obsessed with this amazing Lack of Color label hat, and honestly haven't taken it off all weekend. Rad cowboy-ish leather boots from the Solestruck babes to finish it off. Let me answer your question. Yes. Yes this was my Labor Day BBQ look. Black and blue 4ever.
Classic with a twist. Like coca cola in a glass bottle with a turquoise bendy straw. Did I lose you? Levis. A classic denim company with reinvented styles. I was super excited when asked to be apart of the Lookbook x Levis #liveinlevis collab. After heading to the Levis store in Santa Monica and trying on lots of styles, I decided on these high-rise, grey skinnies. I styled the jeans with a cutoff sweatshirt and laced ankle boots for an unintentionally (wink wink) monochromatic look. Check out the post on Lookbook here. This is how I #liveinlevis
Literally squeezing every last playsuit look in before sweater-leather season hits. I may have actually come around to summer dressing this year, even if it was mostly *surprise* black. I underestimated how nice wearing something simple and skimpy, like this romper, would be. Added some (poser) tough girl vibes with my bad a** YSL boots and cinched the waist with a studded belt. Wait. August is almost over? Please hold on while I fake cry because it's almost fall. *million emoji heart eyes*
